Enhancing Atchison County's Business Climate

ACDC assists entrepreneurial companies, responds to inquiries, and develops incentives for doing business with Atchison County, such as the Enhanced Enterprise Zone and Tax Increment Financing.

Supporting Local Businesses and Leveraging Resources

ACDC promotes existing businesses through local grants and shop local campaigns.  ACDC also assesses needs and refers individuals to  expertise provided by Northwest Missouri Regional Council of Governments,  University Extension, Small Business Administration, or another quality resource.  ACDC contracts specifically with Northwest Missouri Enterprise Facilitation for individualized business coaching.

Providing Local and Regional Leadership

ACDC has provided staff and financial support for local efforts such as Tarkio Renewal and Atchison County Wholesale Water Commission.  ACDC actively participates with economic and community development groups like Northwest Roundtable of Economic Developers, Leadership Northwest Missouri and the Northwest Missouri Regional Council of Governments.

ACDC was organized in 1978 to help attract business to Atchison County.  Since 1995, ACDC has been supported by a 1/4 cent sales tax that provides an office and full-time staff.  Today, ACDC provides economic development services and community development support, striving to create a vibrant, thriving place that our youth want to choose as their forever home.  ACDC focuses strongly on growing existing businesses, connecting young people with their community and county, and creating an environment that fosters startups and new industries in Atchison County.
