Fishing & Conservation Areas

Brickyard Hill Conservation Area (Charity Lake)
Travel east of I-29 Exit 116 on Route B for one-eighth mile, then turn southeast on Route RA for one-eighth mile to area entrance.
Activities: bird watching, fishing, hunting, camping, hiking

 

Corning Conservation Area
Drive one mile northwest from Corning on Highway 111, then turn west (left) on Atchison/Holt county gravel road.
Activities: bird watching, camping, hunting

 

Deroin Bend Conservation Area 
Take Highway 111, five miles northwest of Corning, MO, then turn west on Route Z for 2.5 miles, then turn south on Golden venue 0.75 mile.

Hoot Owl Bend Access
Take Highway 111 west off I-29 to Route E through Langdon, turn west on Route U, then turn south on Route U, west on 280th Street then south on D Avenue to area entrance.

Langdon Bend Access
Langdon Bend Access is west of I-29 on Highway 111, west on Route E through Langdon, then west on Route U, west on 270th St.
Activities:  provides access to Missouri River, bird watching, camping, canoeing, fishing

 

Lower Hamburg Bend
Travel west of I-29 at Hamburg, Iowa on Route V for four miles then south one mile on Route V to County Road 100 then west 0.5 mile to area.

Nishnabotna Conservation Area:
The Nishnabotna Conservation Area is composed of two separate tracts. The north tract is accessible only from the Missouri and Nishnabotna Rivers. The nearest river access is Watson Access. To reach Watson Access, travel north and west 1.5 miles on Route BB from the town of Watson, continue west on 160th Street one mile to the boat ramp. To reach the south tract travel west two miles from Watson on Route A, continue west on gravel road 175th Street 0.5 mile then south 0.75 mile on Aurora Ave to the area.

Star School Prairie Conservation Area
Travel east of I-29 on Highway 136 1.5 miles, then north on Highway 275, 12 miles to area.

Tarkio Prairie Conservation Area
Five miles east of Westboro on Route C, then south two miles on Y Avenue.
Activities:  bird watching, camping, fishing, hunting

 

Watson Access:
Travel north and west 2.50 miles on Route BB from the town of Watson, continue west on 160th Street one mile to the boat ramp.
